There are several small heathlands in the Palace Park. Here the
vegetation is of bilberry, cowberry and heather. Rare plant species
on the heathland include petty whin, hairy greenweed and mat-grass.
On the banks of the dug streams grow unusual ferns, such as the
oak fern and deer fern. In the Palace Park you might also find
chickweed wintergreen.
